The characters were incredibly well written, and I was drawn in from the start. I loved the way that the author wrote alternate chapters in the unique first person voice of each of them. They were so real to me that I was right there in the story with them, and could see them and hear their voices as though I were standing next to them. I cared deeply about their lives and their troubles and laughed and cried along with them. The secondary characters were no less real, and I fell in love with many of them too. The villains were wonderfully nasty, and I hated them with a passion! This book has everything; adventure, suspense, humor, romance, and more. It kept me turning the pages nonstop until I reached the end, and immediately bought the sequel, "Stolen Son".Product details

The characters are well drawn, and the story is told from different points of view. The author has done a brilliant job of making the reader care about each of the all-too-human characters. I read this book in one sitting, and I am looking forward to Book 2!
This story winds around a families life in past and present. It's complicated to understand how it is going to all come together but alas it does. I wish the story went on farther and never ended;)
